"What’s in it for me?" is a fair question when it comes to employee engagement efforts. We know what involving your workforce means for organisations:- More buy-in during transformations or new strategies- Higher productivity- Less employee turnover Of course this benefits employees implicitly but the question isn’t often asked directly: what’s in it for employees to get/stay involved? We get this question too:“We as a company see the value, but why should employees be motivated to participate?”Civinc truly involves your workforce on the topics that matter, and that implies that employees put in effort. They have to (1) show up, (2) engage in conversation. Why? As an employee Civinc let’s you:✔️ Understand, and learn from, other perspectives✔️ Speak out in a safe setting✔️ Provide indirect feedback to leadership on key issues But without:- Bias- The fear of consequences- Group- and leadership pressure Moreover, a Civinc session never takes more than 30 minutes. That’s high impact with little effort. The user stories attached to these cases provide a good insight into Civinc’s value for employees ➡️ https://civinc.co/cases/

As HR professionals, we know that employee engagement is key to achieving results and generating profits. But what does it take to truly engage employees? Money is important, but it's just the base level of engagement. Yesterday, I led a discussion with a cohort of HR Directors about current and former managers celebrating their wins, and not one person mentioned a pay raise or better benefits. What had them talking, smiling, and sometimes even crying, were moments when their leaders believed in them, accepted them for who they are, cleared a path for them, honored a commitment, or taught them something impactful. To truly engage employees, we must be in a good place at each level. And that's why I'm excited to share a tool that I recently introduced to our HR development program members. It's a great depiction of what it takes to engage employees and aligns the work needed to create employee engagement. As part of our program, the team is now assessing their organization's ability to deliver at each level. Next, we'll look at their company's performance and see if there's a correlation between engagement and better results (this will be done in 1:1 sessions for confidentiality purposes). I'm passionate about this work and believe that engaged employees not only achieve results and generate profits, but also change lives and live a fulfilled life themselves. Let's strive to be proactive and strategic people and culture leaders, not just policy masters. #hrcommunity #hrdevelopment #hrleadership #seatatthetable #strategichr

An engaged workforce is a productive workforce. Gallup has identified 12 factors to measure when determining employee engagement:1. Employees know what is expected of them.2. They have the materials and equipment needed to do the work correctly.3. They have the opportunity to do what they do best every day.4. They regularly receive recognition or praise for doing good work.5. They have someone at work who seems to care about them as a person.6. Someone at work encourages their development.7. Their opinions seem to count.8. The company’s mission makes them feel their job is important.9. Their colleagues are committed to doing quality work.10. They have a close work friend.11. Someone at work talks with them about their progress.12. They have opportunities to learn and grow.Does this sound like your company? If not, more work is needed on employee engagement. It’s more than just bringing in a food truck or giving everyone an extra day off – it takes ongoing and integrated focus on the factors above, with buy-in from all leadership and management. Strengthening employee engagement might be as simple as explaining your organization’s operations and purpose. How?By promoting a big-picture mentality, you create a sense of belonging and ownership among your team members. They no longer perceive themselves as isolated cogs in the wheel but rather as important contributors to your organization's success. This shift in mindset instills a sense of pride and motivation, enhancing their commitment to their work and your organization itself.Additionally, observing the big picture encourages employees to tap into their creativity and explore their potential in other areas of the organization. When employees comprehend the organization's larger goals and objectives, they can brainstorm innovative ideas that transcend the boundaries of their specific job duties. This not only leads to a more creative work environment but also opens up new avenues for professional growth and development. So, as leaders, let us encourage our employees to embrace the big picture, allowing them the opportunity to expand their horizons, discover new possibilities, and feel a deeper connection to the organization they serve.Do you agree that this could help your employee engagement?#howtosucceed #leadershipstyle #winningcircle #sophisticatedleaders #managementtraining

Employee engagement has long been a metric of #leadership and #culture. When employees are engaged, they are emotionally invested in their work and the success of the company. However, low employee engagementresults in lower productivity, increased costs, poor customer service, lack of innovation, and decreased employee physical and mental health.Given this impact, smart CEOs and their Executive Leadership Teams (ELTs) are constantly seeking strategies to boost #employeeengagement and productivity. One such strategy that has proven effective is the practice of #selfleadership."Self-leadership is the practice of intentionally influencing your thinking, feeling, and actions toward your objectives." (Bryant and Kazan 2012)#learning professionals have also noted the importance of self-leadership in enhancing employee engagement. They argue that self-leadership skills, such as #selfawareness, #selfmanagement, and #selfmotivation, are crucial for fostering a sense of #ownership and engagement among employees.Read the full article.

Picture this: You've invested countless hours and resources into your business, yet you still find yourself grappling with a significant challenge – employee engagement. It's a scenario all too familiar to many of us. Despite our best efforts, the statistics remain disheartening: only three out of ten people are actively engaged in their work, while five are disengaged, and two are actively disengaged. These numbers beg the question: What can we do to foster a more engaged workforce? Join me as we explore this critical issue together.Insights:Employee engagement isn't just a buzzword; it's the lifeblood of any successful organization. Engaged employees are more productive, innovative, and committed to the company's mission. On the flip side, disengaged employees can drag down morale, hinder productivity, and ultimately impact the bottom line. As business owners and entrepreneurs, it's imperative that we prioritize employee engagement as a strategic initiative rather than an afterthought.Actionable Tips:- Taking an interest in an employee's personal passions can lead to increased enthusiasm and energy in their work- Instead of suppressing individual dreams, companies should collaborate with employees to help them achieve their ambitions- Creating a system that encourages employee engagement and pride in their work.- The unexpected benefit of collaboration leading to consistency and recognition.- Internal promotions lead to better training and continuous source of information.- Promoting less qualified internal candidates can make the company more attractive and bring in more talent.- Celebrate individuality and help people live their values and passions through the company.- Create collaboration and prioritize internal promotion to build better cultures and teams.I invite you to share your thoughts, experiences, and strategies for enhancing employee engagement in the comments below. #WorkplaceCulture #LeadershipDevelopment #BusinessSuccess #EmployeeExperience #ProfessionalDevelopment #HRStrategy#CompanyCulture #TeamBuilding #EmployeeRecognition #MotivationMonday #WorkforceDevelopment #BusinessOwners #Entrepreneurship #ThoughtLeadership

Employees make decisions and take actions every day that can affect your workforce and organization. The way your company treats employees and how employees treat one another can positively affect their actions -- or can place your organization at risk.Based on decades of employee engagement research, Gallup knows that engaged employees produce better business outcomes than other employees -- across industry, company size, and nationality, and in good economic times and bad.But only 21% of employees worldwide fall in the "engaged" category. Employees need more than a fleeting warm-fuzzy feeling and a good paycheck (even if it helps them respond positively on a survey) to invest in their work and achieve more for your company.People want purpose and meaning from their work. They want to be known for what makes them unique. This is what drives employee engagement. And they want relationships, particularly with a manager who can coach them to the next level. This is who drives employee engagement.

The most successful clients I work with have employee engagement scores in the 75-80 percent range - not the average level Gallup shows which is around 25-30%.The first step along the path of improving employee engagement (effort, productivity, impact, motivation, happiness, customer engagement) is to measure it with an employee engagement survey. Why do you resist taking the pulse of your workforce on how they feel about working in your organization?
