In 1918, Vanity Fair was the first fashion magazine to declare golfers as ‘well-dressed’, alongside a feature of the latest must-have sporting attire: a single-breasted jacket, waistcoat and a pair of knickerbockers. And while the world of golfing – and its wardrobe – is miles away from the sport’s fashion that reigned supreme in the Roaring Twenties, it remains a sport which is fashion-forward and sophisticated. Today, golf fashion collections combine design – some brands even have their own fashion directors – and the latest innovations in activewear, allowing anyone who fancies a spot of tee time to look chic while practising their swing and breaking a sweat. Lululemon
While Canadian activewear pioneer Lululemon has made a name for itself in yoga and Pilates circles, its golfing attire should not be overlooked. Manors
Manors was founded in 2019 by golfer Jojo Regan and two friends who made it their mission to reinstate golf as one of the best-dressed sports in the world. Now with fashion director Nick Watts at the helm – who helped the brand’s hip but simple designs land on the world stage after an imaginative collaboration with Adidas in 2021 – Manors’ retro styles are a must in any golfer’s wardrobe. Bogner
Bogner has long been known as a luxurious ski brand (understandable since it’s been stylishly kitting out slope-goers since 1938) but little was known about its golfing collection until award-winning German professional Bernhard Langer sported its ‘B’ designs on the course in 2020. Combining technical fabrics with loud colours, everyone will be able to spot you on the course thanks to Bogner’s bright red, stark navy and clean white hues. We also love its patterned designs, such as the Ron polo shirt featuring the ‘B’ print, stretchy sleeve cuffs and woven logo jacquard accents.
